Skills For Care Workforce Development Fund

As part of our Home Employment insurance, we provide independent living seminars and training covering a wide range of areas. This means Mark Bates Limited not only protect the independent living of individuals receiving Personal Health Budgets or Direct Payments with our comprehensive cover. But we also support them with every aspect of employing Personal Assistants.

We provide this to empower service users and aid a wide range of support organisations with the training they need, supported by the customer helpline provided with every policy offered. These presentations are fully endorsed by Skills For Care, who share our dedication to developing individuals. Skills For Care are best known for funding and supporting those employed in social care and the wider sector.

The government organisation recently introduced the Workforce Development Fund (WDF). This initiative provides a pot of money for businesses to access if they wish to deliver a workplace development program. Companies can deliver each learning program for up to 20 people and could qualify for £500 or £125 per learner depending on the course taken.

All the business needs to do is apply for the license to deliver any or all of the programmes available outlined below.

- Lead to Succeed: aimed at deputies and aspiring managers, teaching how successful behaviours and practical strategies can support aspiring leaders in their day to day work, as well as considering how they could implement these behaviours and strategies.

- Well-led: aimed at registered managers and other operational managers working in adult social care settings who want to develop their leadership skills and knowledge, this programme was previously delivered by Skills for Care.

- Continuing Professional Development (CPD) modules for registered managers: the topic areas will focus on culture, people management and managing yourself.

You might need to act quickly though as the deadline for applying for funding is 31 December 2019, making sure the development training is completed before 31 March 2020.
